Enviro House: Wildflower Cafe - Salvaged wood and eco-friendly operation

Wildflower Cafe, Mosier......stop by for lunch!!

  • 60% of the wood used the in building is salvaged from an old mill and contractor scraps, including the floor, exposed trusses, trim, wall studs, rafters, porch decking and railings.
  • Foundation uses a insulating block system that eliminates the use of forms and reduces concrete consumption, product called ICEblock
  • Super insulated using wet pack cellulose insulation (recycled newspaper fiber)
  • Low-toxic water based wood finishes used inside from Portland Company called Timbertech
  • High efficiency propane heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Fresh local produce used in restaurant, little waste generated, and all food cartons and boxes are recycled
